I don't think I like Nintendo anymore....this is sad....

By and large, Nintendo hasn't ever made "shooter" games. The ones for which it is most known - Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Metroid Prime - are 2nd party developers; ie, technically not Nintendo. But with games like MP3, RE4, RE:UC, No More Heroes, Red Steel 2, and others, the shooters will get representation. It is simply taking developers time to catch up.

 AFAIK, Metroid Prime is first party considering Nintendo actually owns Retro Studios.
