I've done it a couple of times. Never actually played the games I backed, though. One of them was a wrestling game for PC. I don't even game on PC!
If the content looks like it will bring happiness and the devs seem to believe in it, that goes a long way with me. I'll check out your game and speak with my dollars....maybe.
