| fleischr said: E3 still left me with a lot more questions than answers -- and not just about NX. Iwata's death stirs the pot - but it only added to a long list of questions I have, things I'm waiting to hear more on. As a Nintendo fan, I'm continually asking these questions. And I'm sure you're asking pretty much the same. What is Quality of Life? When does it release? When will we hear more about new MK8 dlc? (all but confirmed from investors meeting) What is the new membership/loyalty service Nintendo is launching with DeNA? When does it arrive? Besides Pokemon Shuffle, what is the first mobile title Nintendo releases? What is Retro Studios working on? What about Monster games? (is it really Diddy Kong Racing?) What is Tantalus porting to the WiiU? (remember: not mature, but 'bigger' than Mass Effect 3 and Deus Ex...) What about rumored WiiU projects from Intelligent Systems, Next Level, and Headstrong games? Beyond Starfox Zero, what is Nintendo's future with Platinum Games? Will we get to see who REALLY won the smash ballot? Anything on Zelda U. ANYTHING! Longshot: Has anything come of the other cancelled/unconfirmed games on WiiU? (ex: Shadow of the Eternals, + the WiiU title the Saints Row director was supposed to make, MercurySteam on metroid, ZombiU2 amazon listing + prototype) |
Some of these question can be answered, I'll try my best.
QOL isn't something to get excited over from a gaming perspective. The first QOL device has already been revealed, it's a sleep sensor. IIRC, it's supposed to release next year[1].
As far as I'm aware, nothing has been revealed regarding more MK8 DLC. I remember the talk from the investor's meeting, but they didn't specifically confirm more MK8 DLC, they only explained how that formula worked (supporting a game after launch by releasing quality DLC). Don't get your hopes up for more MK8 DLC.
Actually Platinum Games is working on Project Guard as well (releasing in 2015, but I wouldn't be surprised if that has been pushed back to 2016)[2]. Hideki Kamiya expressed interest in working on Star Fox in 2012, and he got to work on that game. In that same interview he also said that he was interested in reviving the Murasame Castle franchise, so who knows if Nintendo allows he to do that[3].
The Smash Ballot is still going until the third of October, we'll probably hear more after that, but not anytime soon.
Personally I'd like see some more Zelda U as well, it's been a long wait.
