The point Rol is making (I think) is that PSX had no discernable immediate impact on hardware sales in the USA. Therefore, what is this Forbes guy on about thinking MS needs an equivalent event to somehow claw back market share?

Seems the guy just wants MS to win the USA and is looking around trying to find reasons other than providing compelling games to be MS's magic bullet.
