Emulating a PS3 would require a lot more hardwarewise than emulating the 360. So he got that right, the PS4 can't do BC. But the Wii U which also competes with the XBO does have BC.

Yeah but what's stopping Sony from allowing someone the ability to put in their PS1/PS2/PS3 games into their PS4 and streaming from PS Now instantly?

For that matter, what's stopping them from releasing a PS1 and PS2 emulator?

That's a million dollar question. The PSOne and PSP emulators run with great results even on my midrange Android phone (Snapdragon 400, nothing exceptional). I doubt it would be technically difficult for Sony to make a working PS2 emulator, with enhanced resolution. I suspect some internal commercial issues. They want to push the PS4 games and they may be thinking about remastering some classics. I don't know.

Or it has to do with testing. If they bring the emulators they want to bring (and sell) the Classics as well. And they all need to be tested, with the emulator configuration changing accordingly. For example my UK copy of FF VII runs on my PS3, but the cutscense are glitchy. And FF VIII (UK) doesn't start at all. While the ones on the PSN should be just fine. Well FF VIII is since I just bought it from the US sales. They can't sell anything glitching in the PS Store.

BTW I hope Phil Spencer gives a good spank to this Tsunoda guy. It isn't lying that they build good marketing relatioships..
