When i started playing videogames around 1995,

Child.

i got a Gameboy Pocket and i loved it. The next year, I got a N64(which is my favorite console of all time)

First is always best. But it's a good call regardless.

and enjoyed the wide range of games,

After about 2 years. It had an anemic library for the first year.

and great games for kids that even adults can't help but enjoy. The Gamecube came out and I wasn't impressed with the range of games. I thought that it was just a bad generation so I waited for the next generation in hopes for a better range of games. The Wii came out and i have to admit that it is incredibly fun to use the motion sensors...for about a month. I still enjoyed the motion sensors but it wasn't INCREDIBLE to me. They have some great games like SSBB, SMG, TP,

 All 3 developed by Nintendo

but some games that sold over a million really just blow my mind like that Carnival game...

Which is not from Nintendo

I'm sure its fun, but come on!!! They are commited to these more childlike games than people my age(17) and above.

As an "above" - well above, actually- I can say that as you move further away from adolesence (it will end soon, promise) the less you are concerned with whether a game is "childlike" in style. In terms of gameplay, Nintendo still excells, with the exception of you're standard Mario Party games.

I doubt they are going to go back to making satisfying shooter games(Metroid Prime is ok, but it comes out once like every 3 years and i am not going to wait that long).

By and large, Nintendo hasn't ever made "shooter" games. The ones for which it is most known - Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Metroid Prime - are 2nd party developers; ie, technically not Nintendo. But with games like MP3, RE4, RE:UC, No More Heroes, Red Steel 2, and others, the shooters will get representation. It is simply taking developers time to catch up.

So saying all this, I think that Nintendo is not for me.

If the only kind of game you are interested in are shooters, and if the number of "childlike games" on the system -even though they are not made by Nintendo and no one is forcing you to buy them- bothers you then, no, probably not. Get thee to a threesixtery.

But the real question is this: have you enjoyed the Nintendo games games on the Wii? If so, then Nintendo is for you. It may not be enough to satisfy you anymore on it's own, but that's a different thing entirely. You may want to branch out and try other systems to scratch the shooter itch, but so long as you can enjoy games like Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, and Metroid, there is no reason to walk away from Nintendo.
