I am a guy who loves having physical copies of games. I can't stand digital only releases, cause I want to feel like I "own" the game.

With that being said, I feel that taking a 70% hit off of the score simply because it's download only is way too much. The mathematical equation needs to be reworked. Nintendo Land is not better than Resogun, yet Nintendo Land scored four times the points as Resogun.

Eh, just a thought.

I think the 70% off of downloadable only games is ok, 50% would probably be better, but they have to count less.
Indie games otherwise would inflate the scores by quite a bit and would detract from the big games.

In the case of Nintendo Land and Resogun, it's a big publishers title vs an indie title. Resogun should be compared to Ori and the blind forest and Affordable space adventures, Nintendo Land should be compared to Infamous second son and Rare replay.

The downloadable only games are on every platform and are punished by the same percentage, shifting the focus on the bigger exclusives.

For a deeper comparison you would have to start separating the exclusives by genre, release time and criteria like: "do your own a PC, Vita, 3DS, PS360 etc." and that is a lot of work.

But for a quick overview of the trends, it's useable.
