I honestly don't think the answer is that simple. Nearly all of the things that draw people to one of the two exists in both. To say you like one while hating the other is contractidory if you like the two mediums as a whole (Television/movies and video games). |
First off, let's take out the hate part, because nobody mentioned anything about hating either.
Now, nearly all of the things? That is a pretty vast overgeneralization. There may be some similarities or there may not be depending on the particular game and anime. Something like Serial Experiments has very little in common with a game like Splatoon.
I don't what "all of the things" are, but there are many things that are in one that are not necessarily in another. Can you compare the storytelling of something like Death Note to the storytelling in Kirby's Epic Yarn? The art style of Dragon Ball Z to the art style of paper Mario? Did you get stuck on the fight between Goku and Vegeta when you were watching Dragonball Z because you couldn't beat it? Did you have to grind in Naruto? (Well maybe all that filler could be considered grinding).
I could go on, but that'd be pointless. People like things for all different reasons. Just because I like Japanese games does not mean I have to like Anime even if they have some similarities (and no they do not have nearly all of the same qualities). Liking one anime doesn't even mean I have to like any other anime. They're different things.
