It basically caches data you use the most, so it's all dependant on how big the SSD cache is. But for me it sharply increased boot up times compared to an HDD. Loading times in games won't be dramatically better as with an SSD, but the Seagate Barracuda I'm using is still fast enough for me. I could add an SSD later if I want. If you really want top notch speed, go get an SSD. But if you're willing to compromise a bit, an SSHD gives some decent advantages over traditional HDD's and they're not very expensive.
