Quite right, but just like Sony's CMOS business, that sell to other companies, that's also what they are doing in this case also!
A smartphone mobile HDTv tuner may not seem that important, but to companies in the telecommunications business, I'm pretty sure they are quite interested in lowing the amount of bandwidth consumers are using for streaming TV or video across their network. This of course could in effect lower video streaming requirements across their telecom network by end users to a smaller reliant number.
