From what i've heard there have been very few problems with the HDD (one with Oblivion but that was game specific) the problem has been with the motherboard... I think microsoft put extra money in the HDD but should have put more into the motherboard |
$800 per GB? I think you might have misread something. A good hard drive may cost you more but nothing towards the region of $800 per GB (considering that 1TB of data storage would cost over $800,000, when a RAID6 array of hard drives will be faster, more reliable, and cheaper)
Even your .40 per GB is too much, it's less than 30c per GB here (for a Seagate SATA 320GB) and that's in Australian dollars.
