But you play on console because you prefer to play on console, not because of the hardware specific exclusives. These games will remain exclusive to XBox, but MS is growing that community to be larger than anything Sony or Nintendo can match. You will not be able to play them on Steam, or Playstation or Nintendo. And the XBox gaming brand has consisted of Console+PC+Smartphone+Tablet for several years now, so this is just the next natural step.

This makes absolutely no sense. What is the point of there even being consoles without there being exclusives, exclusives are what GET people to buy a system because that is the only system you can play them on.

It's not about "Oh I prefer to play on console" it's about buying the console to get what you can only get on it, and if the games are on PC then that defeats any reason to even buy an Xbox One.

It does not matter if you can't play them on Steam, Playstation, or Nintendo, you can still play them on something OTHER than an Xbox One which means they are not truly exclusive.

Which is why Microsoft needs to keep a lot of them FULLY exclusive to the Xbox One, or else people will just look and say "Why should I pay $350 for this console when I can just play the "exclusives" it has on PC?".

Like I said, I can see some of the lesser system-seller games that probably won't boost that much hardware like Fable Legends, Halo Wars 2, etc going to PC, but they need to keep the big system seller games like Halo, Quantum Break, Scalebound, etc FULLY exclusive in order to keep giving reasons for people to buy an Xbox One.

Just because it makes no sense to you doesn´t make it any less real. The main reason a person gets a console (unless you already are a PC gamer) is because of the plug-and-play factor. You don´t have to think about compatibility issues, if you need to upgrade the graphics card or RAM, you know that the games you get will always work on that machine. That is what differentiate most of the console crowd with PC gamers. What then makes a person choose a specific console is often times its exclusives compared to other consoles. Since the person has already decided on going console, it then doesn´t matter if the games are on PC aswell.

If MS release their exclusives on XBox PC+Console, which generates far more revenue than only releasing on PC or console, why shouldn´t they go with the former option? It still retains the exclusivity (meaning, you cannot get the games on Sony or Nintendo consoles) but the market expands. This is also why Steam is releasing their own line of consoles. Although they will most likely fail (just as MS did their first time around), they too see how gamers prefer different kinds of platforms depending on how they prefer to play games.

It's not that it makes no sense only to me, i'm talking about what you said.

Do you honestly think that Microsoft taking all of their Xbox One exclusives and putting them on PC won't affect hardware sales of the Xbox One whatsoever?

Yes, even if you take into account that people do buy consoles for their more easy and ready-ness, exclusives are still a major factor that comes into play. It still doesn't change the fact that people can just look at the Xbox One and say "Why pay $350 for that when I can just play the "exclusives" it has on my PC".

I understand what Microsoft is trying to do with PC, but like I said I don't see them putting any of the big hitter system sellers on there because they need them in order to give people a reason to buy an Xbox One. I thought it was obvious from the start what Microsoft was going to do, support PC more but still leave a lot of Xbox One full exclusives to keep hardware sales going, but some people seem to be surprised about this apparently and they won't be pleased unless absolutely everything comes to PC now according to how some people are reacting to this.
