No that's the 12mb version. The 1Gb is $70/mth from memory, still cheaper than most of its competitors (that's when the competitors even offerred that speed to begin with). 

Google fiber isn't revolutionary from a speed PoV, what was great was that Google are offering it in areas when the local monopolies were sitting fat dumb and happy offering 1/10th the speed for double the price, and Google introduced the necessary competition to get them to start actually improving services rather than being content to nickel and dime their users for sub-par services.
