Maybe they'll do this, but I feel that 42 was simply a throwback. Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy is one of the most prolific pieces of scifi in existence, and, if you've read the series, you know that TONS of scifi things reference hitchiker's guide to the galaxy. 42 is simply the easiest reference.
