but that is also a good argument, Nintendo has weak sales on Wii U. but yet there are a lot of Nintendo fans on a non-Nintendo only forum. There are more NIntendo haters to begin with, with all the NX speculation threads, and other post-E3 threads that really went overboard. Maturity is really key in having a good debate, but some of the posts here are just really childish. Agree also on the point with one of the earlier poster, that most forums, people wanted black or white, and people who tends to be neutral, their posts seems ignored, or not so much weight, which is true. It is really comes down to the heated debate between the absolute right against absolute wrong, and if the discussion is really just wumming or what. |
Honestly, that's rather anecdotal. In any given week/month/year you could point to the over-abundance of certain threads, and say 'Yup, Nintendo (or Sony, Or Microsoft) haters". How about when The Last of Us Remastered launched? I only mention that because as a Sony fan, I was sensitive to the volume of those, whereas, a Nintendo fan is likely to be more sensitive and notice more Nintendo based threads.
Plus, NX is a new Hardware, on a site that discusses hardware primarily. Obviously it's going to be of great interest in the topics, just like all hardware is when we know nothing about it (yet). Not saying you aren't right, I'm just saying that there are numerous times where a particular subject (no matter the platform) is beaten to death in the forums with thread after thread after thread.
And I do agree, that some folks/users/subjects seem to get more leeway than others, with regards to the maturity of the discussion, however, I refer back to sensitivity on topics that include your platform of choice. I can't really say one way or the other, because frankly, I try to avoid threads for platforms/games I'm not interested in unless I have something I feel is valuable to contribute to the topic (My issues with closed networks, lack of user control, ethical issues w/ journalism, lack of user mapmaking/moding tools, lack of voice functionality control etc..).
