Really? People complained about that? For once we see the other crime families besides the Italian one and yet people complain? Or do these people have no historic sense besides Hollywood and really think crime back then was only by those Italian people?

This is the main problem. People either associate "mafia" with the italian mob, and at times, a bit with the japanese and russian people. They can't see further from it.

That is because the Italians  were a structured organisation  with leaders and rules and were labelled the Mafia, and are still around to this day. The Japanese Yakuza is probably the closest to the level of organisation that the italian mafia has. Russians on the other had are their own smaller groups with different objectives.

Black crime groups werent exactly organised organisations it was just small turf wars mainly between themselves and hispanics and jamaicans.  The closest they got to some organised structure was in Philledelphia who ironally associated themselves with islam even calling themsleves the Muslim Mafia (oh how times have changed lol). That didn't last long and soon split up into factions.
