I tend to play conservative, saving ammo and stuff. But from time to time, specially before turning the console off, I save and go crazy using everything and shooting everything, and killing everyone just for the hell of it.

That's one of the awesome pros of Fallout 3/NV's saving system, it is so precise you can mess around and load exactly in the same circumstances before you go apeshit.
