Week 30, 2015 (Jul 20 - Jul 26)

Week 31, 2015 (Jul 27 - Aug 02)

With the end of the school year there's some good results for both hardware and software,

-Yokai Watch Busters was the best selling game of the month to the surprise of noone, its now also the best selling game of the year and 2015's first million seller.

-Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer did really well for being a spinoff, almost New Leaf's first week, the game should keep selling weel through August and reach a million, HHD is going to be Nintendo's best selling game this year.

-Splatoon keeps doing great, its already this years best selling console game and that's unlikely to change, the game will likely go on to sell 1m units, depending on how it performs during the holidays it could happen this year.

-Fire Emblem, Rhythm Heaven, Mario Kart and Minecraft keep doing well.

-Batman was this month biggest surprise, Arkham Knight sold close to as much as all the previous games in the series combined, here:

PS3 Batman: Arkham City              12.192              46.317 Warner Bros. Interactive 11/23/2011
PS3 Batman: Arkham Asylum                8.266              28.938 Square Enix 01/14/2010
PS3 Batman: Arkham Origins              11.537              11.537 Warner Bros. Interactive 12/05/2013

While its going to sell less than them in the long run, for a franchise with so little presence in Japan, its impressive for Batman to outsell Yoshi and Taiko on its first month.

-Once again the 3DS moved more software during this month than everything else combined, as in over 3 times as much, not only that but with the releases of heavy hitters like Yokai Watch and Animal Crossing its now moved more software than all PlayStation systems combined (for the year) to say the little handheld carries market by itself is no exaggeration. WiiU has also moved more software than the PS4 for a few months now already.

-We got Famitsu's Top 100 for the first half of the year, so some LTDs for the games below are outdated, what they sold outside of top 30 is now accounted for on the system's total software sales which is why all recieved a significant boost.

-The New Nintendo 3DS LL moved the most hardware once again and thanks to the Animal Crossing bundles is also back as the best selling SKU of the year.

-WiiU and PS4 are now up YoY being the first and so far only systems to do so, while 2014 wasn't particularly good for either system its good to see an improvement.

What to expect next month?

There are only 2 noteworthy things happening in August, Obon and the release of Dragon Quest VIII on 3DS which is why the New 3DS LL will be back on top on software once again. Obon will boost all hardware and software so we should keep positive results for the whole month, the evergreen titles (Splatoon, Minecraft, Mario Kart) will be ones to get most of it.

Not sure on what the best selling software will be, as Dragon Quest VIII will only account for 1 week I'm not too confident on it, depending on how they do on Obon it could be either Yokai Watch again or Animal Crossing.

Something to note here, the Total Known SW sales (only 2015 releases) is much higher than before, I wasn't adding the data correctly so it was wrong, that's fixed now so the number is more closer to being accurate.
