Just bought a 360 along with a copy of GTA, My thoughts.

Hi guys, yesterday i decided during my work break, i would walk into Woolworth's and buy either GTA or Wiifit, which ever is available (if both were available i would have just bought Wiifit cause its cheaper)

 

So i went into the shop and it seemed that wiifit was out of stock, so i picked up a 360 premium along with a copy of GTA for £199 (not too shabby).

 

My history with GTA

I have played most of the GTA's

GTA on the PS1

GTA London on the PC

GTA 3, GTA Vice city and San Andreas -PS2 

So as you can see i am a fan of the GTA series 

 

Why i bought it on the 360

If i tell you the truth the 360 has not been one of my prefferd consoles this gen, (biggest reason being the whole PROD issue). But the Plastaytion 3 is too expensive for me right now, plus my brother gave me half of the money to buy the 360, so i bought the 360 instead along with GTA. I think the 360 is a cool machine, but the whole PRD issue has got me worried, my Girlfriends brother has a 360 and his PROD'd about a few months back, before that happened i thought it was just an exaggerated story that alot of the 360's PROD'd.

 

GTA IV My Thoughts (Played it about 3 hours last night)

This in no way deserves  all the high scores its been getting, not saying its a rubbish game, but as some one who has been playing GtA close to a decade, i would not rate this game, above the previous installments. Why? Well before i get into that i will say what is great about the game, i think graphics wise its very nice, GTA has never been the bastion of graphics, but it makes sense seeing as all the things that have to be rendered on the screen etc. Liberty city seems very much alive, if anything every thing the previous games does, this does far better except for one important thing (well important to me), the controls suck!!!! And that spoils the game, especially driving the cars, its terrible, I think most of the reviewers who reviewed this game with such high score have done us a serious de-service, i would give this game an 8 or something. If the controls were a lot tighter then i would be very tempted in giving this game a 10.

  

A couple of days ago, i read a thread post (on this site) in which the auther said that GTA IV is the best game ever made, and now i have played this game, i am thinking this guy has obviously not played the previous installments, Like i said my main gripe of this game is the controls, the thing we do to interact with the the game, and if they suck then the gameplay is also affected, and after-all what is a game without good gameplay, hopefully Rockstar will send out a patch or something to fix the controls.

 

P.S My workplace gave me an Iphone (on wednesday). This week rocks !!!
