"Speaking to The Vancouver Sun, former EA employee and current Black Tusk studio boss Michael Crump said the studio will focus on, “big games, big teams” and “big budgets” with “long timelines.”"
""As part of the Microsoft Studios family, Black Tusk is able to leverage resources, technology, and experience from other first-party studios such as 343 Industries, Turn 10 Studios, Rare Ltd., Lionhead Studios, Good Science Studio, and Twisted Pixel Games."
What’s more, Black Tusk will also work tightly with Microsoft's other studios in the area, including BigPark and Microsoft Studios Victoria, not to mention the company's actual hardware development teams.
"We also share resources and knowledge with BigPark and Microsoft Studios Victoria, two other Microsoft studios located in Vancouver and Victoria respectively. Finally, we collaborate closely with the teams that make Microsoft’s entertainment platforms, such as Xbox 360, Xbox Live, and Kinect.""
Originally we were given the impression that it would be working on new games and working with other development teams. It was going to be the Santa Monica of MS, ie, a dev that has it's own titles, but also works with everyone else.
While having a studio focus on one game is great, it kinda throws 2 years worth of news and info right in the bin.
