The first reply pretty much hit it on the head... with one addition (implied by this definition).
I like the PS3 better then the 360 or the Wii (I have all three). I know that the reason I like it better, is personal preference. This makes me a fan. If you have an opinion about something, and your personal feelings cloud your judgment so much, that you don't realize it's based on your personal judgment, you're a fanboy.
I will pick on someone here named Starcraft. He can look at 10 facts about something, with 5 being pro Sony, and 5 being pro MS, and when he sees them, he sees 5 even, and 5 pro MS, so in his eyes, it's obvious that the 360 is better. He does not even realize the view he has is based on his bias. That's being a fanboy.
