Games shouldn't be expected to win GOTY simply because of how different they are. They should win it because if how good they are. And what do you even mean by change things up? Then mention Zelda. You do realize that outside the story, levels and a fee new gameplay mechanics Zelda has basically been unchanged since its inception. Not saying Zelda isn't going to be GOTY material. Just that its weird you talk about changing things up then mention Zelda. Cause if you want to be honest, they have changed quite a lot in U4 as they do in Zelda. Mind you, I'm not saying U4 wins GOTY. Just saying its gonna be really hard for anything to top what we have seen and know ND can do. And I've seen nothing of Zelda that makes it GOTY material. |
I guess you've never actually played a Zelda game. Have you already forgotten about the wall painting mechanic in the lastest new Zelda game? It's not as if the whole game was designed around it... Oh wait. How about the item rent system which allows you to complete the dungeons in any order you please?
Zelda U is open world, SS isn't. Zelda U has no motion control, SS does. Zelda U will make great use of the gamepad no doubt. The artstyle is also entirely different. Those are already very big differences and we barely know anything about the game!
ND is very overrated. Horizon impressed me much more, especially because it's not a setting you see everyday. Indiana Jones, Tomb Raider, National Treasure, etc.
The whole thing is overdone.
And like I said, I've seen many great games this gen get slaughtered by critics because it was more of the same. Why should Uncharted or ND get a pass?
