Concerning Xenogears; was it that you didn't understand the story? Because it usually gets praised my some jrpg fanatics for having the best story in any video game and most mature one, mixing ideas of Niezche, Jung and Freud.

I have not played the game myself because it was never released here in Europe (but I've seen the opening on youtube and it was amazing). It's at the No. 1 spot in my wishlist because I'm a fan of 19th century philosophy/psychology and sci fi jrpgs.

The story definitely did make you want to find out more about it and the plot can be analyzed deeply. But I think Xenogear's gameplay was boring, maybe I'm just getting sick of turn based battles but I didn't enjoy playing the game and considering it's around 60 hrs or longer, I just lost interest.
