I'm glad the thread was reopened, some mod did the right thing.

It was reopened before you even posted your first post in the thread.

I didn't said all mods abused power.

I agree with sending a PM to a mod, that's what i did (well, i posted in his wall but it's the same =P)and i was threatened anyway.

Posting in the wall isn't the same as a PM. Saying you were threatened is meaningless without context, you may well have deserved it. A mod's job isn't to put up with our BS, their job is to stop the BS from happening so everyone else can enjoy the site.

And members don't need to have a say or agree if someone is banned, but it's wrong to ban someone unfairly.

Saying an unfair ban is wrong is stating the obvious.

Who decides what is and isn't fair? The mods. Do I agree with all of their decisions? Hell no, I think some of the things they ban for are silly, but I don't have access to the history of each poster and I can't tell who has been banned or warned for trolling, spamming, etc... in the past. All we as members see is someone is banned and a short explaination of why, we don't see the list of prior bans and recent warnings that augment their decisions and we shouldn't be able to see those things because there is a reason they are handled in PMs.

The PMs are to keep things private the goal isn't to humiliate or belittle someone publically (well sometimes they deserve it anyways) and so bans and warnings are handled in PMs. For the same reason objections to bans are handled in PMs. If you disagree with the mod who issued the ban you can contact one of the head mods and protest at that level. If you still disagree you can PM ioi who will probably ignore you because I happen to know he trusts his mod team implicitly, they've earned that trust.
