I say that Nintendo should undertake pseudo-merger acquisitions. and in this way obtain Atlus.

Specifically, undergo a kind of combination merger and acquisition with Sega Sammy. Since they own Atlus, Nintendo would get Atlus by this path. By "combination merger and acquisition", what I mean is that Nintendo would be the dominant part of the company, but Sega Sammy investors would be absorbed in, rather than being bought out (obviously not literally, but I think you get what I'm saying).

And then, they can also merge with/acquire a western publisher... maybe Koch Media? Obvious alternatives are Take-Two or Zenimax. These are publishers that typically make games that aren't Nintendo's typical fare... which is part of the point... and are big enough to matter while also being small enough for Nintendo to be able to afford it.

When it comes to Capcom, I think Nintendo's best bet is to go into a big agreement with them. Something along the lines of "we'll fund a heap of the games your people want to make with your IP, but in return, you guarantee that all Capcom games are released on Nintendo systems and are of high quality when released." No need to constrain them to Nintendo-only, but no more DR: Chop-til-you-drop situations, and no more Resident Evil 5 situations.
