It's not really an ARPG. It's a lot closer to turn based. Or else I wouldn't love the combat system so much.
Still need to get used to the aesthetics though. Valkyrie profile was so much easier on the eyes.

Yeah I guess, when I first watched it it looked kinda Tales of to me which I would call an ARPG.
