Not only did the wii u have a limited amount of software but much of it was of ports that weren't really sutiable for the wii u specification and performed poorly. I'm not sure what is worse lack of games or games that were inferior to versions of the same games on outdated consoles but the whole situation was very damaging for Nintendo.
Still don't know what the NX is or how powerful it will be but mainstream development nowadays is on x86 architecture and any other processor type will hinder third party development as will a poor product or poor price point.
Development for the ps3 and 360 seems to dying quickly so there aren't going to be powerpc ports from those formats to NX if the NX is PPC based.
If the NX is arm based and will be getting enhanced ports of android and ios games then I think the NX will flop badly. Just can't see such a product doing well.
NX needs to be reasonably powerful and x86 based I feel to have a fighting chance.
