I hope it does not turn into ARPG, I want to feel the impact of attacks and see who is doing the big damage, not some fast paced 1 player controlled character rushdown AI shit. Or turn based with some cinematic BS where camera angles go all over the place with every attack, like Cloud: Launch enemy into air, Tifa: Attack , Barret: Attack ----> characters say some stupid "badass"-lines and start cinematic combos and BS juggles, it's cool for the first hours and then after 20 hours you wish there would be skip-cinematics option.
Keep the goddamn 3 characters on-screen and update the ATB-system and re-balance Attacks/Magics/Skills/Summons. Fuckin Square, there is countless of examples people want old-school, like Mortal Kombat.
edit: How did I forget, yeah...slow-mo's, to make the combat 2015-worthy you gotta introduce slow-mo's all over and hopefully in every goddamn battle...I cannot...I don't want to even keep thinking if Nomura tries to make everything look cool..................

If done correctly your movements should feel unbelievably heavy to the point where you literally cannot move at all.
