There is always a possibility, but it depends if Capcom:

A) Has the money/resources to make such a game (or find someone willing to fund it)
B) Are willing to risk less sales on a smaller install base compared to the proven 3DS install base.
C) Can even make a profit on such a game compared to previous installments.

I would love a MH on home console again, loved MH3 on Wii U. Was great, even if it was just an upscaled port.
Still want MH4 on Wii U.

They certainly do. Monster Hunter scale wise is actually much smaller then Dragons Dogma which a huge sprawling open world and story cinematics. Moster Hunetr has more monster variety (+better artstyle) but cost wise I don't see a console version of MH being any more demanding on them then Dragons Dogma or DD ONline.

I think the question isn't so much of whether a console version could make a profit but more a case of why would they give up superior profits that can be found on a handheld platform? The franchise sales are 80% from Japan and they've clearly shown that they're more interested in a handheld MH then a console one. I think a turning point will come with the 3DS successor. If its close to Wii U strength, Capcom will most likely utilise its power, at which point they'll more or less be making a console quality assets and so I could see them making it cross platform with NX/PS4
