Really? After 2016 lineup comes out and it gets a price drop? I can see that happening.

It's just not happening. No console has ever done that, and the first one won't be the PS4.

For perspective, in Japan in 2013, the 3DS had a lineup of Pokemon X/Y, Monster Hunter 4, Puzzle & Dragons, Dragon Quest VII, Tomodachi Life, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Yokai Watch, Professor Layton & the Azran Legacy, Shin Megami Tensei IV, Attack on Titan, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorny - Dual Destinies, Mario Party: Island Tour, Donkey Kong Country Returns and Disney Magic Castle: My Happy Life, with games like Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Bravely Default, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Super Street Fighter IV, Fantasy Life, Harvest Moon 3D: A New Beginning, Resident Evil: Revelations, Tales of the Abyss, Style Savvy: Trendsetters, Rune Factory 4, Dead or Alive: Dimensions, Project X Zone, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, Etrian Odyssey IV, Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D, etc. already released.

The point is, a catalog of games won't hold up a console forever. It's bound to drop, no matter what. 3DS has by far the most appealing library in Japan, yet we've had quite a few weeks where it's dropped below 30k. And we all know no platform will surpass it over there this gen.
