DQ has little bearing on Capcom, MH has established itself as a portable beast where as DQ has a long consistent history on consoles. DQIX was controversial when first announced remember, the issue DQ has is that console players in Japan are now niche so a console DQ is going to sell far less then on handheld this is why the game is on 3DS and tbh it looks like it was on 3DS initially as that version is much further in development.
MH on the other hand is more consistent on portables, Tri is the best selling console game at 2m but compare that to the consistent 4m each handheld game achieves.
