And of course it's their fault that they are in this situation, because they did thinks like allow Kojima to get away with the things he did. They probably pumped the brakes on him, then he got pissed because they were restricting his creativity, shit hit the fan, and Kojima was fired in bad blood. The removal of his name, for example, isn't a result of the fact that he was fired, but what lead to him being fired. He probably said some offensive shit in the heat of the moment that offended higher ups in the company. Likely much of the same kind of shit gamers are saying now, like how Kojima is all Konami has left and how Konami is nothing without Kojima, and how Konami is a shell of what it once was. Not saying I agree with Konami, but pettyness like this doesn't come from nowhere. Especially when the pettiness is coming from a multimillion dollar corperation. No, this is a response to something Kojima did, and it must have been pretty bad. I agree. I don't really care about the legacy of MGS or whatever, but its sad that franchises like Castlevania and Contra are pretty much dead now. |
This or something similar is probably exactly what went down tbh.
I agree that they must've just got into a massive argument tbh where things were said, you could well be right about what things that Kojima may have said, I think this is likely as well as it seems he's up his own ass a bit and this is the kind of thing he might think/say.
It's a shame about all the classic IP that are now "lost" but then again there are plenty of studios and companies that have classic IP that they will never do anything with. Konami seem to have been on the way out for a long time, it is what it is I guess.
