At this point, it would be foolish not to expect another Forza game next year. Turn 10 and Playground managed to keep to 2 year turn around despite the console transition in between. It would take severe mismanagment to make it otherwise.

Personally I have faith in Geurilla to deliver on time, however I also said there's no way The Order 1886 would miss Holiday since they removed the multiplayer and that there's no way Sony would delay Uncharted 4 and Ratchet Redux with their otherwise anemic lineup being what it was...but we know what happened there.

Actually, MS top priority should just be to own the IP and ensure careful managment to cultivate the IP into a franchise rather than a 1 and done. Owning the studio only becomes an issue if said studio is on the verge of shutdown or takeover.
If Microsoft purchased Remedy, Platinum, Armature/Comcept and whoever is making Crackdown tomorrow, the lineup wouldn't change one iota. The biggest gain would be owning the Alan Wake IP.
Microsoft are better at managaing their important IPS than Sony. Halo and Forza move from strength to strength while Killzone and Motorstorms turgid corpses rot in the harsh desert sun of the of the never-weres.
