I'd like to entertain the possibility that perhaps they struck a deal with SE to make a new Valkyrie Profile game since the series has gotten three games in 15 years, the last one having been made seven years ago. It's obviously not a series SE is all that invested in, and I could see them making some kind of deal for X% of profits or some such. It just seems silly to me to do a big teaser and to announce two names, one of which was predominately involved with only two series, one of which already has a game in development, as well as someone who was conveniently involved in the same series that hasn't gotten a new game in over half a decade, if it's really just for a spiritual successor or a totally new project.
