Halo and gears are IPs that were bought from outside developers. If you look at the list of IP created or spawned from Microsoft owned studios the list Is rather paltry.

MS bought bungie, then let them go at 2007, and bungie agree give Halo to MS.

Okay....well point still stands. Bungie is it's own entity and Halo is Microsoft's.
