Halo and gears are IPs that were bought from outside developers. If you look at the list of IP created or spawned from Microsoft owned studios the list Is rather paltry.

Bungie was bought by Microsoft. Not Halo

No Halo belongs to Microsoft. Otherwise, do you think Destiny would have shown up on the PS4?
