You were talking about publishers, not developers.
And Atlus is not the best Japanese developer/publisher( their mother company, Sega). Maybe on some hardcore gaming forums, but that's not representative for the whole gaming market.

What? Dont tell me about what I was talking about. When I said SEGA has what it takes to be the best third party, Im not talking about a financial partner or making the money. Im taking about a company gamers want more from, respect, love, are excited about, ar excited to hear from. Im a gamer not business man. Your business man mentality is why you always miss the finer details or the actual points being made. You pretty much tunnel vision yourself.

Yet most gamers will be more excited by Monster Hunter, Yo-kai Watch, Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest.

You're missing the point here I'm afraid. You're acting like a popular game can't be good or as good as a niche game.
