If Devil's Third were to be fixed / remastered - would you buy it?

For all the hate its getting, it's hard to deny the concept is really appealing. Ninja Gaiden meets Call of Duty, a touch of Saints Row weirdness, with a ridiculous, terrible storyline that would make John Woo,  Steven Segal, or Jean Claude Van Damme proud? Sounds amazing.

What's holding the game back doesn't seem to be it's concept or design - it's the technical execution. The biggest complaints are controls and framerate. And while some degree of skill and familiarity with the game could help a player overcome those challenges, those kind of setbacks in particular do tend to make games feel unfair and not fun. A lot people who are looking past those technical shortcomings are hyped -- it looks like fun. A lot of us see the fun that could be there, but don't want to suffer for it.

Say 3-4 months go by, the framerate issues are fixed and the controls are tightened up a bit. The game costs say, $30 - would you buy it?

Say a year or two goes by, and the entire game is overhauled to run 60 fps, better controls and some other gameplay and graphical overhauls - would you buy it? Maybe even a second time?

I can't help but think even with the troubles it's facing, Devil's Third will in time become a successful IP due to a dedicated fanbase who have conditioned themselves to overlook the game's current failures. And that one day, DT will get retooled and it will be the great game we all know it was truly meant to be.

I for one don't plan to buy the game at launch in this state - but if it had better framerate it would be a day 1 purchase for me.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
