I'm not sure if you're sarcastic or else. MGSV: Ground Zero is not an AAA either, it's very short, but sure it isn't an indie game.

Indie games are the ones made by independent studios. So technically Journey is an indie game, supported by a big publisher. If Thatgamecompany couldn't finish the game it was them going bankrupt, as it nearly happened. As we have all seen how Kojima wasn't independent at all. :D

No, it isn't. Indie as in independent publishers. As in if Journey was an indie, it would be developed and published by thatgamecompany. Journey is just a PSN title, it's not a indie and not a AAA title.

"Thatgamecompany was founded on May 15, 2006, as Chen and Santiago finished their master's degrees.[3][4] The company soon signed a deal with Sony Computer Entertainment, which had been impressed by Chen's Flash game Flow—a component of his master's thesis at USC. Thatgamecompany was contracted to produce three games for the upcoming PlayStation Network distribution system, and was given startup funding and a location at Sony's offices in Los Angeles"

Contracted by Sony hence not indie.

OT: Journey was a fun game but I wouoldn't rate it anywhere higher than a 8.5 imo. 92-94 on metacritic does seem a little overrated to me.
