I use "we" to mean the gaming community in general... and yes, VGChartz has some rabid OoT fans as well. I created a thread where I said, by todays standards, GTA4 (along with many other games) is better then OoT. I got flamed for 3 pages.

I would link it, but I don't want another three pages of flaming :p

I remember that thread, and your argument was fundamentally flawed.  By your logic, Hour of Victory would be a far better game than Super Mario World.  I seriously hope you don't believe that.

I guess the easiest factor to measure games in the greatest of all time charts would be fun factor. SMW is still incredibly fun, was Hour of victory anywhere near as fun as that? If they are tied on fun factor then I guess it goes down to the others like graphics, lasting appeal, etc.

My logic was not flawed. My logic was if a game came out today, under today’s standards for a video game, and it looked and played like Super Mario World, I think it would get an incredibly low score.

Look at this review. It gives it a 9 for graphics.

Yes, it deserves a 9 FOR ITS DAY. But by today’s standards, it’s a joke.

You can finish the game in far less time then Heavenly Sword, and everyone bitches about that games length, yet SMW given high marks for value. Again, for its day, great, but by today’s standers, it sucks.

Also, I was not talking about how much fun it provided you when it was released. I mean how much fun does it provide you today. For people who never played it before now, not much.
