Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but one thing the Apple Watch is not....is bulky.  I own the 42mm model and although I have thin wrists it does not look bulky in the slighest.  The 38mm model is positively miniature in scale.

On a personal note.  The Apple Watch is certainly not an essential purchase.  At this moment in time, it doesn't do enough to warrant a purchase by most people.  It's the small things that make it a good purchase for some.  I enjoy the quick, snappy notifications it provides.  Get a snapshot of a message and allowing me to decide whether to read it and respond or ignore is extremely positive compared with continually checking my phone when it buzzes.  Controlling music/podcasts from my watch without having to take my phone out my pocket to jump tracks is great.  When WatchOS 2.0 releases in a few months I think we will start seeing more time saving interactions and disengaging us from our phone which is the whole purpose.
