The AI shown at E3 2012.

I feel like the AI is a big stickler for a lot of people. Though one of the big things people like to point out is that the enemy doesn't notice your allies. That said, shouldn't we be glad that they didn't notice our allies? Wouldn't that have made the game absolutely insufferable? I would happily take a few amusingly immersion-breaking moments over absolute frustration.

The other big AI annoyance is your allies getting in your way while you're trying to get through a threshold or a door. That is annoying and there's no real way to spin it.

That said, I do get the feeling that TLOU was pushing the PS3 a bit beyond its limits in terms of AI. While I don't have any hard evidence, the fact that Stalkers, which were clearly the most AI-intensive enemy, were so rare throughout the game, might be an indication that they were just too hard to incorporate normally without being too taxing on the PS3.
