I agree with you, the chorus is a letdown and the verse is okay. But I like the song for it's intro and alternative verse (that comes after the second verse). It's an unstable song.
As for palou's link; I give it a 5/10. It was focusing too much on imitating situations/emotions with a piano that it forgot to be melodic.
