I threw in a few games that are also on PS3/PS4 in there, because I saw that your selection of platforms didn't include those in the OP.

And if I may offer a couple of non-Japanese suggestions - Hotline Miami; Guacamelee; Tearaway & WipEout 2048 are worth getting.

As for upcoming games? Keep an eye on:

Did you own a PSP? If not, you just blew the doors wide open for another load of recommendations.

Also may I suggest that you re-consider your importing rule too? It's easier than ever to do these days. If you're ever bought from an online shop in your own country, it's no different to doing that really. I buy from Play-Asia and Videogameplus regularly.
