Oh, I've already seen Chapter 3.
I think it's the universe's way of correcting itself. Her father didn't die, so she has to suffer in some other way. I think the game will force you to go back anyways, but it would be interesting if it gave you a choice. I have a feeling Chloe would choose to stay handicapped if it meant she could keep her father, which makes it very sad that it probably won't happen. :/
