Also, this shouldn't be relevant to someone looking to get into the series, but they are also the first games in the franchise to encourage competitive play, and it is really fun and engaging too. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are worthless and should be ignored at all costs. Don't ever buy that piece of garbage. If you want to play the Hoenn games, go back to the original ones on the GBA. |
Interesting... I have enjoyed Omega Ruby more than the original.
Different strokes for different folks.
I personally enjoyed having more areas and Pokemon added into the game.
Given that the OP is a newcomer, I would definitely recommend playing the new Pokemon games, whether they be X/Y or Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire.
Why? Because they are easier to own, legitimately.
