Yeah i agree, Just to find 3-4 golden luck planets will take several years, just as well as producing ships and get a population high enough to send colonists to new planets.
The travel alone is risky with probably a lot of dangerous obstacles as well as enemies.
It's hard to do the math when i don't know how many survivors there was left of the human race but from what i've heard, the human race was almost exstinct but based on that alone, there isn't enough time for people to produce 800.000 people to populate 800 planets in just 500 years.. If the numbers are below 500 people each planet it will take a heavy hit on the genetic pool without re-using the same blocks and the children yeah you know. 1000 people each planet with just one colony on each planet is crowdy enough to start a healty new generation of people. 8000 people isn't even enough to populate a planet long enough in 200 years to have enough man-power to occupy 600 other planets for the rest of the 300 years. It's impossible.. It takes years just to populate one planet strong enough to jump to the next-
