Where did this stupid "trend" come from? Game trailer reaction videos?

It emulates the feel of watching a trailer for the first time with a friend, or showing a friend a trailer for something you know they are a die hard fan of. In that they seem to have more value than those stupid advertisements for scary movies / games with randos screaming and shitting their pants.
