I vvorked a "40" hour job for a year. But all of it vvas based on production, did 40 most vveeks vvith often 3 10 hr days and 6 and 4 the others for no reason. I considered the 10 hour days as overtime as I did nothing those days but vvork... but didn't get the pay. Overtime vveeks vvould be 50-60 hours vvhich included some saturdays. Often they told us that vve vvould have to vvork saturday if vve did not meet a goal and most employees vvould be fooled into vvorking harder and then vve get out early on friday...
Still I got respect for the managers doing 60 regularly but since it salary just get 40.
No vvay I or anyone there vvant more hours.
