Every year there is some weird interview where someone is unsure about a female protagonist in a game (usually taken out of context) yet at the same time a new Tomb Raider releases and the developers don't bat an eye. I don't think anyone questioned Alien Isolations female lead did they? People were mostly crapping themselves while the Xenomorph was 5 metres away.
I never understood why these game companies fear such a thing. Make the game you want, if people reall don't buy the game because of a female lead, then they are not the customers you want as part of your consumer base.
Or maybe these people that have the problem maybe doth protest too much. *wink wink*
On topic, the game looks amazing.
